Our leadership is made up of the Institution’s founders and vision bearers, lovers of children with a great desire that each child will experience their full potential and become exceptional in their own way. Behind Rachel and Esther are great and supportive husbands without whom, this would have remained ‘just but a dream’. They both have four children of their own who have been an inspiration to enable them make an impact on each child that passes through their hands.
Esther Mwaura is a co-founder of the Pearl Hearts Kindergarten. She is a qualified teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience. She is a B.Ed. (Science) graduate from Kenyatta University. She also holds a postgraduate degree in M.Ed. (research in programmed instruction and child psychology) and a higher diploma in psychological counselling. She has taught in a couple of institutions including University of Nairobi, Extra Mural College. She has taught at a provincial girls school where all the classes she presented for the National examination excelled. This is something she is proud of and forever grateful to God for. Most important is that she is a born again Christian. She has volunteered to serve in the church since she was a young adult, mostly working with the small children in Sunday school. Her role at the Pearl Hearts kindergarten is to oversee the effective delivery of Early Childhood Development and Education Curriculum and ensure high standard of teaching and learning. She is happily married to Mr Mwaura and are blessed with four children.
Rachel Matata is a co-founder of Pearl Hearts. She is a graduate of Daystar University in Business Administration and Marketing. Her personal values are: – Faithfulness, Honesty/Integrity, Trust, and Fruitfulness, these help her to stay in check and ensures that her faith, family and profession are not compromised. Her last corporate involvement was at cellulant corporation. Having served in the organization for ten (10) years in various capacities refined her to have a solid business acumen and a base that prepared her to run her own when the dream could not wait any further. Her passion for children is demonstrated by how she treats and interacts with them with ease and joy. In a company of people where there are children, you mostly will find her with the children. Having served in the children’s ministry (Nursey) at International Christian Church (ICC) since the year 2000 has defined and refined her love for children and impacting them for the kingdom of God by having them love God from a tender age. Rachel’s passion and desire to do things right, has defined her skill on having operations run smoothly for ease of running the institution. She draws her strength from her love for God, inspiration from her husband Matata Munyeke and joy of their four children.
